The Pendle Witch

This picture has been made available by kind permission of Chatburn resident Mrs. M. Barnes. The picture of Pendle Hill, which lies to the East of Chatburn, was taken from the village by Mr. Jack Barnes, some 20 years ago.
Following a heavy covering of snow, a gully on the side of the hill remains filled with snow for a short while, and on rare occasions, seems to take the form of a witch on a broom, which eerily links in well with the stories of the witches of Pendle.
